How I Like to Work
I work collaboratively, building a trusting relationship and working together to form a good understanding of concerns and how they have developed, and then forming a plan for how to address these. Whether I am working with an adult or a child, I aim to create a safe space from which difficulties can be explored, and with younger clients I work flexibly and creatively.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with 15 years experience working within the NHS in a variety of services. I work with adults, children, young people and families.
I have a specialist interest in supporting people living with physical health conditions, both adults and younger people, and in helping families adjust when illness affects someone they love. I also have a great deal of experience working with trauma across the age range, with adults as well as with children and their parents, and I am trained to use EMDR with all ages. With younger clients I draw on play based and narrative approaches, so that difficult experiences can be made sense of in a way that feels manageable.
My Credentials and Registration
I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Salomons Institute of Applied Psychology, Canterbury Christ Church University. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy with children, young people and adults. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
