How I Like to Work
Warmth, compassion and collaboration are at the heart of my approach. I know that starting therapy and talking about difficult experiences can be daunting, especially when there are things that may be hard to put into words. This is why I place importance on creating a space together where you feel safe to explore your difficulties, at a pace that feels right for you. Everyone’s needs are different and I will work collaboratively with you to tailor the therapy to your needs.
I work with young people and adults, and see clients face-to-face at our Tunbridge Wells clinic on Tuesdays.
I have a particular interest in relational understandings of distress, which consider how past and present relationship dynamics shape the ways we understand ourselves, others and the difficulties we face. We can explore patterns that may have developed over time, how these might be affecting you now, and what you may want to be different.
My overall aim is to offer a space where you feel understood and can develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, as you work towards meaningful change.
My Credentials and Registration
Whilst my current NHS role is in a Community Mental Health Team working with adults, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings for almost a decade, across all age groups.
I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University. I have also completed further training in EMDR (Parts 1-3 with EMDR Consultancy), DBT Skills training (Essentials and Enhanced with British Isles DBT Training) and MBT training (with the Anna Freud Centre), and I am in the process of qualifying as an MBT practitioner. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, UK (HCPC).
